Volunteer FAQ
- When is packet pickup?
- Packet pickup will be Wednesday, May 22nd & Thursday, May 23rd, from 3-7pm at Volunteer Village (formerly called the Volunteer Hub log cabin on the grounds of Applegate – 1807 SW 2nd Street, Bentonville, AR 72712).
- Will there be another “Volunteer Ride” this year?
- Yes! This will be Monday, May 6th, starting at 6pm with Kenny Belaey starting from the venue site. All are welcome (kiddos included). We will leave the venue site as a group and ride into and around Coler.
- Will I get more details/expectations about my job prior to the festival?
- Yes, based on your job, there will be a specific Zoom meeting at the beginning of May with the “head of your area.” This will be your opportunity to meet race directions, the operations crew, etc., and ask whatever questions you may have. We will also have a group Zoom meeting and an in-person meeting prior to the event. Dates—TBD.
- Is there parking for the volunteers?
- Yes, volunteers will be able to park on-site near Volunteer Village. This is located at the back of the venue (1807 SW 2nd Street, Bentonville, AR 72712)
- Are my kids welcome to come volunteer with me?
- Yes! You are more than welcome to bring your kiddos. If they are younger than 14, they are required to have a chaperone while on-site (one can be provided if you do not plan to stay and volunteer).
- What are some things I should bring with me to volunteer?
- Bring snacks in case you get hungry during your shift (even though meals will be provided), sunscreen, bug spray, and for some roles it may be helpful to bring a camping/folding chair so you can sit down. There will be water provided throughout the event.
- Who do I notify if I cannot work during the event, leave before my shift is over, or will be late? What if I want to stay and help longer?
- Please text or call Jess Martin, the Volunteer Coordinator (phone number will be shared once you sign up). Please avoid using email, as email will not be checked during the event.
